About me…

…I’m a New Zealander currently living in Sydney, Australia. Sometimes I miss home, more often I miss my wonderful family, but I don’t really have any plans to return soon. My husband and I are planning on traveling the world. We both enjoy traveling and seeing new places, and most importantly having adventures.

I never really grew out of the “why” phase. Thankfully I have been lucky to have met people who support this curiosity, and to find a career perfectly suited to a curious nature.

I have been working as an online researcher for 5 years now and love using the Internet and all its tools to find information. I am currently working in the recruitment industry as a sourcing specialist and functional lead for a team of researchers. On a day to day basis my job is to support the team with current trends, up to date info on the industry, and “cool stuff”, as well as create and facilitate training programs and act as a consultant to researchers or groups that are having trouble with difficult to find information.

One of my main interests at the moment is social media, what is it and how can it be used to connect with people and support the finding of information.

I am passionate about researching and finding information, and I see the research function as a vitally important role within companies, and somewhere that people can have a rewarding career, not just as an entry level position into future roles. This was one of the reasons I set up the Australasian Researchers Network, in the hope of getting researchers together, exchanging knowledge and promoting research as a career.
